Cruciate Ligaments

Cruciate ligaments – the most important stabilizing ligaments of the human knee joint – their rupture causes knee instability. Rupture of the cruciate ligaments and/or the medial meniscus are the most common intra-articular traumatic injuries of the human knee.

Multiple causes – sports trauma, road accidents, domestic accidents.

Symptoms – Marked pain followed by joint swelling, functional impairment, then chronic instability.
